Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

The end of term is fast approaching and the PTA have once again been working hard in conjunction with the school to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Celebrations are planned for the last day of term, Friday 27th May

At drop off in the morning the children will be creating a piece of art to reflect the occasion made with coins, which will be on display later in the day.  If your child would like to take part please bring some coins to school on the morning of the 27th, all donations will go towards PTA funds.

Parents and family members are then invited to join us in the afternoon on the school playground/field for a Red White and Blue Parade together with Tug of War competitions. There will be a parent/teacher tug of war so be prepared to get involved!

To help capture the occasion the PTA have arranged for drone photography and a video.  If you do not consent for your child to appear in the drone footage please email the school office by Tuesday 24 May.

The event will start at 2pm, the school gates will be open from 1.45pm. Please enter the playground via the car park gates in Workhouse Lane.  There will be an area cordoned off for parents/family to sit and view the parade and tug of war competitions.  Pupils will be sitting separately with their classes.

Refreshments, including hot and cold drinks and ice creams will be available from Amy’s Mobile Catering for parents during the event and for children afterwards.

Children are invited to come to school on the day wearing a combination of red, white and blue clothing.  To give the event a twist we have also assigned each class a decade and if your child would like to incorporate an item of fancy dress from that decade they are more than welcome.
