Westfield School is a community school in Westfield, a village 3 miles to the north of Hastings. Most of the children come from the village, but 40% come from Hastings and St. Leonards. It takes children aged 4 – 11 and currently has 207 pupils on roll.
The aims of the school are:
- To create a happy, safe and friendly environment where all children are encouraged to be courteous and respectful
- To ensure that all pupils are treated as individuals and have full access to the curriculum whatever their needs
- To develop and maintain good relationships between home and school
- To ensure access to a broad and balanced curriculum for all children
- To develop moral and spiritual awareness alongside tolerance and understanding of different religions and cultures
- To assist children in gaining confidence and independence
- To work in close partnerships with parents, providing them with quality information
- To ensure the school plays an important part in the community
